picture of

Floral in nature, with a juicy, red and black plum and truffle character, soft tannins and sufficient freshness, medium bodied, red berries in the final.

Grilled or roasted meats, such as game, lamb, smoked duck breast and even some hearty tasting cheeses.

climate

Maritime climate, characterised by the close proximity to large bodies of water that moderate their temperatures. Maritime climate is often described as a "middle ground" between two extremes. Often subject to the viticultural hazards of excessive rain and humidity , it has distinct seasonal changes, usually not as drastic, with warm, rather than hot, summers and cool, rather than cold, winters.

soil

With its 12 hectares, Château Taillefer is one of the largest properties in Pomerol. The castle owes its name to the strong presence of iron oxide in the subsoil. As the plow pulls through the tendrils, it seems as if the blades are sharpened by the presence of iron.

vinification

75% Merlot and 25% Cabernet Franc Vinification takes place in temperature-controlled, traditional concrete barrels. Malolactic fermentation takes place in a combination of cement barrels and French oak barrels. The wine matures for about 12 months in 33% new, French oak barrels.
