picture of

Light, yellow color with golden reflection. Aromas of candied lemon and exotic fruits dominate. Delicate hints of honey, raisins and yellow blossom. Wonderfully balanced whole in which sugars and acids are perfectly attuned to each other. The same balance is found in the aftertaste, which continues to be tasty and airy.

Once aged, the wines can develop into the very best sweet wines in France. Their complex character guarantees a royal accompaniment to a tasty fois d'oie, Munster cheese, crème brûlée, pastries and fruit pies.

climate

The region of Anjou (around the city of Angers) has a maritime climate with rain all year round. Warm summers with cooling from the sea and cold winters.

soil

The vineyards are located in the Haut Layon. This is the part furthest from the Loire, which translates into a milder acidity than near the river. The soil consists of schist and slate. The best sweet wines from France are made here.

vinification

After selection and manual picking, the grapes are pressed and the juice is immediately separated from its lees under controlled temperature to release the aromas. By lowering the temperature, the fermentation is stopped and an ideal sugar/acidity ratio is obtained. Then it rests for another 6 months on its fine groin in stainless steel barrels and 6 months in the bottle.
